How much money do I need to become a Dagwoods franchisee?
The total cost for a new Dagwoods franchise, turnkey, can range from $140,000 to $185,000. This includes the cost of equipment, leaseholds and franchise fee. A minimum of $45,000 in non-borrowed personal resources and a net worth of $50,000 are required to qualify for a small business loan.

What happens if I don’t qualify for a loan?
What you lack in net worth you can make up with enthusiasm, restaurant experience and a strong desire to succeed. Manage an existing corporate location for six months and you may qualify for in-house financing.

How long will it take to open my first Dagwoods location?
From the time the franchise agreement is executed, it could take three months to find a location and sign the lease. The build out will take up to two months.

How do I find a location?
Dagwoods has qualified agents who are constantly searching for great locations. If there is a location you are aware of or if you already own a building, the location must first be approved by Dagwoods.

The average size ranges from 950 to 1,500 square feet.

How much training do I get?
You will work at a Dagwoods corporate location in Montreal for at least four weeks. During this time, you will learn all aspects of management, product preparation and quality, and service. Once you are ready to open your store, you will be assigned a Dagwoods trainer to ensure that you and your staff are ready to give the best possible service to your valuable customers. You will receive ongoing visits and on-site consultations and reviews. You will attend monthly manager and franchisee meetings as well as slicer, safety and service clinics, which are held every six months. Training for you and your staff is of utmost importance for Dagwoods. The key to our success is our great sandwiches, the consistency that we have maintained over the years and our fast and friendly service.
